Initially, I wanted to make the halves for all four Konoha teams, call it Konoha Tribute and upload as a 100k hits thank-you submission But I got lazy and made only Team 7 linearts which I didn't feel like coloring for a long time As you can see, Naruto and Sasuke are just slightly modified versions of one of my previous artworks - I only changed the eyes, facial expressions and the color of Sasuke's outfit Sakura and Kakashi were vectored solely for the purpose of this deviation

The symbol next to Kakashi isn't supossed to be Shikamaru's family symbol It's a symbol from one of Icha Icha books I may change it once I find Kakashi's family symbol [I had no idea that such symbol existed O_o but apparently it does - at least that's what somebody told me in one of the comments].

The symbol next to Naruto is the one he had on his t-shirt's back when he was a kid I don't like the swirls he has on his outfit and that flame-like symbol seems like a good alternative for me ;]

I hope that the yellow gradient behind Naruto doesn't look weird? It looked fine on my laptop, but it looks differently now that I'm uploading this pic using my pc >_<

Many people ask why I've chosen those particular facial expressions To be honest, I just wanted them to have different facial expressions - making all of them looking angry or smiling would just add more boredom to that static picture So, no big philosophy behind that But if you want the reasons...

Naruto is smiling because... well, he's Naruto I already gave him a serious face in one of my previous vectors and I wanted something different this time

Sasuke has his usual facial expression as well xD I don't really like Sasuke so I didn't bother with something more creative. It would be too troublesome

Now, Sakura. Everyone asks me why does she look so sad xD She's probably the only character on this vector that has an actual reason behind her facial expression. You see, I was thinking about that scene of the hospital's roof, where Naruto was fighting with Sasuke. She was extremely worried about them at that time, looked powerless and confused about what's going on. You can say that her sad face indicates that though Team 7 isn't yet broken, she anticipates that something terrible will soon happen.

If you follow that idea, you can also say that the reason for Naruto's happy face is the fact that he's becoming stronger with every day and his confidence grows as well. On the other hand, Sasuke becomes more and more frustrated seeing Naruto's growth. He feels that he's wasting his time staying in Konoha where he can't learn anything that would be worth something in his future fight with Itachi.

Finally, Kakashi. In his case, that serious face is a reminder that he cares about and feels responsible for his young students and will do his best to protect them.

Again, I know it might be a little boring vector, I'm not satisfied with it myself, but... I'm submitting it anyways I don't like working on something knowing that I won't show it to people here xD Lots of dA artists claim that they draw for themselves, not for their audience... well, it's quite the opposite with me ^^" If it wasn't for my fellow deviants, I wouldn't waste all those hours struggling with the pen tool Sooo... Konoha High School Sasuke will be probably next Unless I'll be in the mood for coloring one of my Bleach linearts ^^"
