As you can see, after several months of making promises, I finally finished my vectoring tutorial Its my first tutorial ever, English is not my native language and I suck it explaining things, so its not prefect but at least I did my best. I hope this will help people to start their own vector gallery, be it on dA or anywhere else.
This tutorial was strongly influenced by Unmeis Tracing Tutorial on Ferricorp.Com. I learned how to vector from him. Its a good, beginner-friendly tutorial and so far I was linking it to all people who asked me for vectoring guidelines but one day I decided to make my own version [longer, a little more detailed, with a few of pieces of advice and my own thoughts].
If there are any parts you find unclear, please dont hesitate to note me. Ill try to explain it for you once again in different words, if possible. Also, Ill be more than happy to see your own vectors, made with the help of this tutorial. ^.^
Id like to thank =Realm-Of-The-Shadows for checking my spelling and grammar Any mistakes you find in the text above is my fault as I added some last-minute explanation right before submitting the tutorial. Please dont hesitate to note me about them and Ill correct it
Its also the right place to say thank you to all my watchers who offered their help as beta-testers In the end I didnt have time to ask you for your opinions before submission and Im sorry about that If you still feel like helping me, please tell me what you think after reading this tutorial.
They're called handles, huh?
....They just made loopy crazy things in Illustrator. |D Oh my~

informative, and it's fun to see how the different programs work.
i really.. really don't like method one. and sadly i don't see much of the colored outlines anymore, those looks nice but seem like they're not fashionable with the anime style these days; everyone wants the black lines. even me.
I don't like that method either xD But I noticed that many people prefer to start from it [recently even my roommate started vectoring I tried to persuade her into using shapes for the lineart but she chose to use that method one -_-'] that's why I explained it even though for me it's the least 'vector' part of that tutorial Sometimes it makes me angry that while I'm struggling with making my lines vary in thickness, some people simply check 'simulate pressure' before stroking the line *sigh*
The black lines usually look better on simple vectors While colored lines are a great thing when you vector something more difficult, with many different colors At least that's what I think

Actually that's how I call them Some people call them 'control arms' They should work in similar way in illustrator O_o It's just that you have to be more precise and click right on their ends, while in Photoshop you don't have to be that precise
